Tim Smith – Landscape Photographer
Born and bred in Cheshire but now resident in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex my objective is to create images using natural light. I aim to ensure that each picture is artistically and technically excellent. Adhering to the principle that the image be created in camera, I work hard to achieve this essential objective. Ultimately I hope to draw the viewer in to an image and make them feel as if they were there at the time of capture. During 2015 I will be experimenting with Infra Red photography using a camera converted for shooting IR.
In November 2011 I was awarded the Licentiateship Distinction by The Royal Photographic Society. My stock and news imagery are represented by Alamy and Caters News Agency and my images have been selected for inclusion in The National Trust Image Library.
One of my images – Winter – was the Judges Choice in the 2014 Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition.
My pictures have appeared in The Times, The Independent, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, Suffolk Magazine, Outdoor Photography, National Trust publications, Practical Photography & Essex Life as well as in various other publications and web sites. I exhibit from time-to-time but my main outlet is from quality Art Fairs in Essex as well as Spitalfields Arts Market in London where I established a presence in 2013.
Havens of Westcliff and The Tourist Office in Macclesfield both sell my work. Current Gallery representation is with Sea Pictures Gallery in Clare, Suffolk and has included Firstsite in Colchester and Suite 307 in Leigh-on-Sea.
